Jun 4, 2026 – I flew to ON with 2 puppies, Tosh and Hardy, for 3 Specialty Dog shows. Both puppies were real troupers enjoying all the attention. Hardy was shown in the CTCC ON Regional and National Specialty shows. He won the jr puppy class in both shows. Tosh was shown in the CTCC shows as well as the Terrier Breeders Assoc. of Canada Specialty. She blew me away. She in the 2 CTCC Specialties she was Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Puppy. Then went Best Puppy in group in the Terrier Breeders Specialty!

Jun 8th 2026 – It was a quick trip. We flew home today. Tosh and Hardy are now back doing what Cairn puppies do – digging holes, playing in their dog pool and going for walks.

Jun 25, 2026 – My Cairns love their daily walks at a good pace. No sauntering but many stops to sniff. They love to greet everyone and receive attention. They have incredible memories about the places they have seen jack rabbits or squirrels in the past and can’t wait to check the places out again. (Jack rabbits are big and fast. They are actually hares.) Yesterday was rated as a good walk by the Cairns and resistance training for my arms. A rabbit ran down the street in front of us for a couple of blocks. As the dogs tried to drag me along to catch it they let out their high-pitched hunting barks. This was followed by a squirrel chirping in a tree and a coyote crossing our path. I don’t know how people can trust their Cairns off-leash. My Cairns’ prey drive is too strong. You cannot train prey drive out of a Cairn as it is instinct; they a hard-wired to hunt.
